Leadership
Donny McIver
Founder of TechKnowligence and Alethos. Still operating the work.
Who leads the work
Alethos is led by Donny McIver, founder of TechKnowligence and the products published here. He still runs the work. For more than fifteen years he has helped healthcare, public-safety, and professional organizations turn fragile operations into repeatable ones: site launches that follow one standard, field programs that hold up under surge, and controls that still stand when an auditor asks.
Operating record
TechKnowligence began in 2009 as a founder-led practice. The offer was operating judgment for healthcare, public-safety, technology, and professional-services organizations that needed the work to be dependable, not another stack of tools. Multi-site healthcare expansion is one example. A regional urgent-care organization needed each new location to open from the same specifications. Donny coordinated internal teams, vendors, facilities, and patient-facing systems around that standard, so a new site was a repeat of a known process instead of a custom build. A nationwide public-health testing program had to stand up even faster. He directed the technology and field infrastructure behind the rollout: 26 sites in two weeks, then more than 200 locations, with the deployed stack holding through peak program volume. The useful outcome was not a one-time surge. It was a field model people could run again. He has also kept daily operating controls aligned with SOC 2 for a CISO-led organization, working with auditors and with the people doing the work so the evidence was there when the audit arrived. Earlier, he led information technology for a privately held energy-technology venture, standing up secure operating capabilities for distributed field programs in the United States and Canada. The through-line is owner's judgment applied close to the work: evaluate the consequential decision, align the people and vendors who have to carry it, and stay near enough to know the system is actually working.
How that shows up in the products
That habit is what Alethos ships. Sanctuary Signal started from real security-team requirements: who is on duty, how an emergency routes, how a message escalates, and whether there is a record of what was sent. CrewGauge and the other ventures follow the same pattern. Name the gap between what happened and what the office can trust, then build the smallest system that holds the truth. Technology, including AI-assisted development, is leverage where it solves the problem. The product is the operating record, not the novelty of the tool. Alongside the company, Donny has served on disaster-response teams, including Samaritan's Purse response after Hurricane Helene, and earlier self-deployed efforts after Katrina and Harvey. That service is part of how he works under pressure. The company remains the work he leads.
Donny continues to lead Alethos and TechKnowligence.
